Accessibility Service

The accessibility service is necessary for a series of alarm tasks called CAPTCHA. Completing tasks such as sheep counting, doing math, or scanning a barcode on your toothpaste will ensure you get up on time and are fully awake.
The accessibility Service prevents you from cheating the CAPTCHA tasks by force stopping the app or turning off the device before completing them. No personal information is collected.

Device Admin

This app may also use the Device Administrator permission to prevent you from cheating CAPTCHA tasks (see above) by uninstalling the app.

The new UI changes seem to lack enough UI/UX research & testing. There's UI elements you can't click due to them being under parts of Android system UI and app UI elements. Plus defaulting to a page that's entirely irrelevant to the main purpose of the app (alarms), is a weird choice. Luckily you can make it revert to the normal alarm settings page. This really seems like a case of change for only change rather than function. Making settings easier to navigate would be an actual improvement.

Hello Ramma, we implemented edge-to-edge too early, and after Google added it to their components, they took another approach (and it broke our layout). We released a fix to accommodate the changes. If you do not see the update, you can contact support@urbandroid.org. Thank you and sorry about the issue.

I've been using Sleep as Android for over a decade now. No other alarm app comes close. As a heavy sleeper, the CAPTCHA options to turn off an alarm are invaluable. Mine is set up so I have to scan an NFC tag in my bathroom before I can dismiss an alarm, forcing me to get out of bed. Otherwise I can dismiss an alarm and never even remember. Love this app!

Great and full featured app. I've been a long time user and got it initially for basic sleep tracking, but through the years the devs really packed in lots more features. My favorite is the radio station alarm, it's always a different song and the songs seem really effective at getting me awake. The sleep tracking is also quite detailed, and the snoring and sleep talk tracker have been really useful in trying to improve my sleep quality. Highly recommended! Edit: still going strong in 2025
